Senate Approves $800 billion Plan

The Senate today approved an $800 billion plus stimulus plan by a vote of 61 to 37. The Bill will now be reconciled with a similar House Bill before being presented to President Obama for his signature. The plan is designed to kick-start the economy by creating jobs through New Infrastructure, Education, Renewable Energy and also contains Tax Credits for buyers in an attempt to re-ignite the Housing Market.  

Economic Stimulus

President Elect Barack Obama stated this morning after 2.6 million jobs were lost in 2008 that his "American Recovery & Reinvestment Plan" demands urgent and immediate action.

The number of jobs lost in 2008 was the single biggest annual decline since World War II. "American Dreams are being deferred and the crisis will become more difficult with time" according to Obama.

The goal of the  American Recovery & Reinvestment Plan is to create 3 million jobs in all major industries but in particular Energy, Healthcare & Education.
